Jake's Virtual Tabletop:
Star Wars Miniatures Battles

Star Wars Miniatures Battles is a 25mm skirmish game for ground troops in the Star Wars universe.
SWMB was published by West End Games, licensed by Lucasfilm Ltd.
It was named "Best Miniatures Game" at Origins 1991.
The game is now out of print and the miniatures are out of production. West End filed for bankruptcy in 1998 and no longer produces licensed Star Wars products.
Wizards of the Coast now has the license to produce Star Wars games and miniatures in a slightly larger scale. WotC's RPG line originally included a small number of pewter Star Wars miniatures but this line was not developed past the initial release and quickly went out of production. They now make an extensive line of plastic pre-painted Star Wars miniatures spanning all 6 movies and beyond, sold in randomly packed boxes.

The original WEG Star Wars miniatures were first produced by Grenadier, then later were cast by Simtac for WEG. The figures are close to true 25mm scale. They are a good match for other near-25mm science fiction miniatures and some of the Micro Machines Action Fleet line by Galoob/Hasbro.

There is a mailing list for discussion of SWMB, courtesy of Yahoo! Groups. Many of my ideas for these web pages were sparked from questions and discussions on the list.

News: (August 23, 2004)
I have resumed working on my starship interior terrain project, now several years in the making. The interior details are partly inspired by Leia's blockade runner in Episode IV, but the floorplans are entirely my own design.

I have started a new section of this website for terrain, beginning with some work-in-progress pictures of one starship corridor.

Coming soon in 25mm!
